Live in Building Manager (2 Person Team) – New Westminster

This is a great opportunity for a couple of motivated individuals to join an established, privately owned real estate company that invests in income producing properties across Western Canada. As a company they have a strong focus on their relationships and place high importance on their integrity as an organization. They are looking for a 2 person team to manage a residential building in New Westminster on a live in basis, providing all aspects of building management including basic maintenance and janitorial tasks, rent collection and vacant suite preparation.

You Will:

  • Manage incoming queries from prospective and current tenants about leasing space in the property and provide tours of the building and suites

  • Check references for prospective tenants

  • Manage lease documentation including move-in and move-out inspection reports, leases, parking and storage notices

  • Collect rents and deposit to bank account

  • Provide reporting to various departments including items related to service requests, expenses, building incidents and requisitions

  • Monitor the building conditions and proactively manage small repairs to ensure property is maintained well

  • Undertaking minor repairs and managing the preventative maintenance program

  • Arrange for more in-depth repairs to be completed by trades and contractors when required

  • Manage safety and security of the building including control of access cards, keeping property well maintained and monitoring visitors

  • Perform other administration duties as assigned

You Have:

  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to create and maintain good relationships with tenants

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • A keen eye for detail and are able to multitask and complete tasks accurately in a time sensitive environment

  • Excellent knowledge of legislation related to residential buildings and tenants

  • The ability and aptitude to perform small repairs

  • Bookkeeping skills for managing rent collection and deposits
