General Manager, Property Management (Shopping Centre), Chilliwack
We have partnered with a successful and expanding Property Management Company who are looking to add to their team in Chilliwack. They manage a large portfolio of office, retail, industrial and residential properties across BC and have a fun culture and collaborative team environment. This is an exciting opportunity at a property which currently has around 75 tenants and is undergoing various redevelopment projects. There is an experienced team in place there and you will be accountable for mentoring and managing their performance as well as overseeing all aspects of the property’s management and performance of the property.
Be responsible for the preparation and management of the operating budget for the property to efficiently manage the property’s requirements
Provide strong management to the property’s building operations employees to ensure all systems are well maintained and functioning
Oversee the property’s marketing and leasing activities and ensuring they continue to drive profitability within these areas
Deal effectively with tenant queries and issues where senior management involvement is required to build good relationships with tenants
Build valuable relationships with all stakeholders including with tenants, vendors, contractors and internal colleagues
Implement relevant policies and procedures to ensure company standards are upheld and customer expectations in the property are enhanced
Manage the contract tendering, negotiating and approving processes for third party providers of services
Be responsible for staff management and mentoring for the company’s staff at the property including hiring, training and performance management.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Property Management
At least 5 years’ experience within retail property management, including enclosed centres or strip malls
A valid BC Real Estate Property Management License or are able and willing to obtain one within 180 days of starting the role
A bachelor’s degree in a business related discipline
Strong relationship building, people management, customer service, communication and negotiation skills
The ability to delegate tasks, problem solve, think critically and work collaboratively
The ability to effectively multi-task and be able to recognize and address important and time-sensitive tasks and matters
Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
