Assistant Commercial Property Manager (with Accounting) - Downtown Vancouver

We are working with a high-profile family owned real estate company, who are active in development, investment and property management, to add an Assistant Commercial Property Manager who has accounting experience. This leading group have a proven track record in residential and commercial property, with a vast existing and ever-growing portfolio across Canada and the US.

Forming part of an established team, you will report to the Senior Property Manager and be responsible for assisting the property management team with a portfolio of mixed commercial assets across BC.

You will:

  • Assist the property management team to ensure consistent quality services for tenants, and to help enhance the overall value of the buildings

  • Accurately draft correspondence, notices, contracts forms, monthly reports, memos, move-in/out documents, operator overtime sheets, welcome packages and other documents as directed by the property manager

  • Proactively follow up with property managers, accountants, and other support staff as necessary, to provide operational support in the day-to-day implementation of policies and procedures

  • Work with property accountants and property managers in collecting rent, resolve arrears and compile monthly reports, annual rental payment schedules, CAM reconciliation letters, and conduct credit checks

  • Work with building technicians to assist tenants with maintenance and lease issues, including maintenance projects, common area building upgrades, tenant build outs or interior/exterior repairs

  • Assist with researching quotes and other information for maintenance and capital projects as directed by the property manager

  • Provide superior quality customer service dealing effectively and fairly with tenant requests and concerns on a timely basis

  • Follow up with accounting department as needed to provide status or information regarding accounts payable, accounts receivables and financial statements

You have:

  • At least 1 years’ relevant commercial property management experience

  • A high school diploma

  • The ability to take direction and follow through on assigned work in a timely manner

  • Detail orientated

  • Good computer skills (Yardi an asset)

  • An understanding of commercial leases

  • A general understanding of accounting principles and procedures

  • A proven ability to multi-task and prioritize demands without compromising quality

  • The ability to develop positive and professional relationships with a variety of people while practicing excellent verbal and written communication skills
